School Diversity Week 2026, the annual celebration of LGBT+ equality in primary and secondary schools, will take place 22 – 26 June.

Every year during School Diversity Week, schools across the UK took part in a huge range of activities from assemblies, to fundraising, to even organising their own Pride festivals.

During School Diversity Week 2025, Just Like Us announced that all of our charity programmes are now free, making LGBT+ inclusion accessible to all pupils and educators.

Why should schools celebrate School Diversity Week 2026?

School Diversity Week 2026 is an opportunity to show your school community that difference is celebrated and that all pupils belong.

Just Like Us’ Positive Futures report shows that LGBT+ young people who are supported at school are four times more likely to feel optimistic about their future all of the time, compared with those whose school environments are not supportive (31% compared to 7%).

“Our school has become a much more open environment and I feel the children are happier to talk about any related topics to this. We made a point of recognising individuality and that everyone has their own special talents” — a teacher after celebrating School Diversity Week

Our research has also shown that LGBT+ inclusive environments benefit the wellbeing of all pupils, whether or not they are LGBT+.

In fact, of staff at schools that celebrated School Diversity Week 2025, 74% said that they thought pupil wellbeing had improved as a result of School Diversity Week.
