There are also activities like a classroom session on LGBT+ innovators in science, and another on writing your own news article on a local LGBT+ figure.

Why celebrate LGBT+ History Month in your school?

Independent research has found a link between positive messaging about being LGBT+ in schools and pupils having better mental health, regardless of whether the pupils are LGBT+ or not. LGBT+ inclusive environments at home and at school are also linked to better outcomes for LGBT+ young people, from their mental health, to their relationships, to their optimism about the future, that last into adulthood.
