Just Like Us has resources for LGBT+ History Month in secondary schools, including an assembly and posters – download your free resource pack now. The LGBT+ History Month pack for secondary schools includes assemblies, video resources, poster packs, and much more. One assembly focuses on LGBT+ change makers, past and present, who have stood up for the LGBT+ community in the face of adversity. The assembly also asks pupils to consider how they can be change makers themselves. Another LGBT+ History Month assembly explores key moments and figures from the history of LGBT+ rights in the UK. Free posters highlighting LGBT+ change makers are also available, as well as posters featuring messages of inclusion and allyship.

Why celebrate LGBT+ History Month in your school?

Independent research has found a link between positive messaging about being LGBT+ in schools and pupils having better mental health, regardless of whether the pupils are LGBT+ or not. LGBT+ inclusive environments at home and at school are also linked to better outcomes for LGBT+ young people, from their mental health, to their relationships, to their optimism about the future, that last into adulthood.
