Anti-Bullying Week – free resources for schools
Published: October 27, 2025
Anti-Bullying Week 2025 takes place Monday 10 to Friday 14 November in the UK.
LGBT+ school pupils are twice as likely to be bullied – 43% experience bullying, compared to 21% of their non-LGBT+ peers. Pupils with same-sex parents also face increased levels of bullying.
78% of 9 to 11 year olds have heard others using homophobic language, according to a survey of 4,307 primary pupils by VotesforSchools and Just Like Us. This is even more common in secondary schools, where 80% have heard homophobic language.
It’s sadly still a common problem and undeniably impacts the long-term mental health and wellbeing of pupils who have same-sex parents or grow up to be LGBT+. Just Like Us, the LGBT+ young people’s charity, has free school resources available for teachers to download on the topic.
