Just Like Us launches new website, putting LGBT+ young people at the forefront

Just Like Us

Published: September 4, 2026

Just Like Us has launched a new website, with a brand new design that puts the LGBT+ young people we support front and centre, while improving functionality for teachers and making supporting the charity easier than ever.

Our charity was founded in 2016, and we now work with 4 in 5 secondary schools and thousands of primary schools across the UK, supporting school staff on their LGBT+ inclusion journeys and helping classrooms become safer places for all. We help LGBT+ young adults become confident, empowered and connected to their community, as well as supporting them in the early stages of their careers. We empower every parent to be an ally, and every workplace to be more welcoming.

Over the last decade, we’ve worked hard to make sure all the work we do prioritises the views and experiences of young people, and that their voices are heard across our organisation, because we know that change happens when young people feel seen and listened to.

But in 2026, in an increasingly challenging climate, we want to uplift LGBT+ young people’s voices, in all their diversity, more than ever before. Our new website puts them at the forefront, alongside the schools, teachers, parents, carers and volunteers we support to include them, empower them, and keep them safe.

Our new website makes it clearer than ever how to support Just Like Us – whether that’s taking up a fundraising challenge, volunteering as a mentor, becoming a monthly giver, or supporting us as a trust, foundation or corporate partner.

By showcasing our impact, we hope to help you understand the real challenges LGBT+ young people face, take you on a journey through our everyday work and inspire your support.

For our existing supporters, we hope that by hearing the stories of our young people, you will see the incredible impact you have, and that you will discover new ways to get involved.

Resources library for teachers is now easier to use

For the schools and teachers that we support to make every classroom and school corridor safer and happier, our new website will allow you to access our resources and support even more easily.

Our resource library has improved functionality, with a clearer layout that makes it easier to navigate, helping you find the tools you need to make your school more welcoming for all pupils.
