Just Like Us, the LGBT+ young people’s charity, has today launched a new campaign raising awareness of their inclusive schools programmes.

The billboard campaign is now live across 70 locations, set to be seen by 1.5 million people during its first week.

February is LGBT History Month 2024 and the campaign is set to raise awareness of Just Like Us and our work supporting schools to be happier, safer and more welcoming places for young people who are LGBT+ or have LGBT+ families.

Supported by JCDecaux, the campaign will be featured on billboard locations throughout the UK.

From Hamphire and London to South Glamorgan, Yorkshire and Edinburgh, the campaign will feature Just Like Us and a rainbow school crossing.

Just Like Us’ CEO Laura Mackay says: “This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the work we do to support primary and secondary schools across the UK.

“This LGBT History Month, we hope that school staff and governors will reach out to us so we can help support you on your school’s journey with LGBT inclusion.

“At a time when LGBT+ school pupils are still twice as likely to be bullied, it’s vital that we work together to make sure they can thrive in education. A huge thank you to JCDecaux for helping us make this happen.”

Chris Dooley, Head of Social Impact at JCDecaux UK, said: “We are proud to support inclusive education.

“This important campaign raises awareness of how Just Like Us works with schools to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people. The JCDecaux Community Channel was launched to open up access to Out-of-Home to communities and charitable initiatives and I look forward to seeing the campaign out and about.”

Just Like Us works with thousands of schools across the UK, running School Diversity Week, Pride Groups and school talks. Find out more about our work by signing up to our newsletter.
